Footbridge Farm Cabin

Footbridge Farm is a quiet country get-away located on 90 wooded acres, 15 miles NE of Decorah. We are close to the mouth of Canoe Creek, the Upper Iowa River and adjacent to state DNR land. The cozy owner-built cabin has an open ceiling with exposed beams and rafters giving a sense of spaciousness. Local stone was used in the exterior walls and the floor-to-ceiling fire back behind the wood-burning stove. The floors are oak and slate. Detailed craftsmanship can be found throughout the cabin.

Unwind at the Stone

Our upper level has an open loft space with 4 king beds. Full bathroom with urinal and 2 vanities located outside the bathroom. One bed can be private with sliding doors. Our lower level has a partial partition between 2 king beds, full bathroom. Main level, single bedroom, queen Murphy bed and queen sofa, half bath. There is a deck off the upper level with Mississippi River views connecting to a main level deck off our kitchen. Under the deck on the ground level is outdoor shower and BBQ area.

Tranquility & Vistas on the Farm in the Guest Barn

When you arrive at our 16 acre farmstead and enter the Guest Barn, you'll notice the construction materials which were salvaged from a nearby barn and corncrib. The timbers from these buildings were torn down, moved to our farm and rebuilt into a smaller “new” barn. It truly represents a real farm experience you can feel. While here, you'll slow down and enjoy the tranquility. Walk around the farm, make friends with a cow, watch barn kitties play, while gazing across the vast farm vistas.

There is a master suite in basement with a queen size bed and full bathroom. The open concept main floor has a wood burning stove, kitchen area, and another full bathroom with tub. There are two lofted bedrooms on the main floor as well as a screened in porch, fire pit, 4-person hot tub, and bass pond!

The Barn Loft, located in NE Iowa, is just a short drive from some of the best trout fishing in this part of the state! It is a full Loft Space (1500 square feet) above this Timber Framed Barn built by Wally and Traci. Here you have access to your own rooms, kitchen, and more.
