Forest Floor Guesthouse

The lower level of our Jewel Lake Home with a separate entry, and fun backyard. This is a recent remodel; an eclectic space with vintage wood ceilings and a blend of industrial+ modern detailing. We are 5 minute drive from the airport, and guests can enjoy Alaskan wilderness right from this space. A forested trail system lies right behind our house for walking and biking. Guests may collect eggs from our chickens, use our forest-side hot tub, stoke the firepit, or use paddle boards at Sand Lake.

We aim for you to feel as though you’re visiting family. The property features a spacious yard with a swing set & sandbox for kids. Pat may greet you on arrival & is always happy to share his love of Alaska & local insights. Guests enjoy fast Wi-Fi, convenient laundry access, & the chance to see local wildlife right outside the back door — moose (often with calves), ravens, Steller’s jays, squirrels, & on rare occasions, a bear. Conveniently located in the historic Government Hill neighborhood, near restaurants, greenbelts & scenic areas, and a People Mover (bus stop route 41 - couple of blocks away) It is great for a tranquil getaway right in the heart of the city, only 1.5 miles away from Downtown and the Alaska Railroad Depot, 7.5 miles away from the airport and a minute drive from the military base (JBER - Government Hill gate)

Your private “sweet" is through the home's shared entry. The house is 5.1 miles from ANC airport (13 min by car or approx $20-$22 Uber/Lyft/taxi). Fred Meyer grocery is .7 mile away (15 min walk); Costco is 1.7 miles. Behind your interior “front door” is your Queen bed; TV room; kitchenette; and bathroom with tiled walk-in shower and the best backside feature ever: heated bidet toilet. I live and work upstairs. There's plenty of space for all.

Private entrance includes an outside seating area for morning coffee. Inside provides many amenities to make your stay comfortable. Please, no scented candles or incense as the upstairs tenant is extremely allergic.
