Cosy quiet bungalow in Galloway Forest Park

Culsharg Cottage is a cosy two-bed bungalow in Glentrool, the only village in Galloway Forest Dark Skies Park. It's a beautiful, peaceful, rural location. You can expect awesome starry skies, and if you're lucky, maybe even the Aurora. Glentrool is all about the outdoors, with plenty of biking, wild swimming and walking nearby. We are right in the heart of the stunning Galloway Forest and part of the UNESCO designated Biosphere, with trees, streams, lochs and mountains right on the doorstep.

The Croft Snug

Escape off grid to this secluded self contained large studio room deep in the countryside in Galloway . The accommodation is an annex of our own home and has its own private entrance and en-suite bathroom complete with shower and bath, in a studio format. We are situated on a small holding far from the maddening crowds and under the Galloway dark sky where on a clear night you can see the milky way and an array of stars . We welcome well behaved dogs however they should not be left alone .

The Studio at Drumshang House is a 2 bedroom annex that was an artist studio due to the wonderful views over the Forth of Clyde is approx 8 miles from Ayr and lies on the coast road having walking access to the coast with its beaches and the Coastal Path walk is a place to get away from it all. Situated in a rural location surrounded by farms the village of Dunure is only a short drive or walk away with a picturesque harbour that has featured in the Outlander series a pub and wonderful cafe

Named after one of the region`s hills Curleywee cottage situated close to Glentrool makes it a perfect base to explore Galloway Forrest Park within the UK`s first Dark Sky Park and a UNESCO Biosphere Site. The region is renowned for its spectacular scenery, it`s proximity to some of Scotland`s world-class cycle trails, including the 7stanes, extensive walking and climbing trails, fishing on its rivers and lochs, there are also a wealth of public Museums, galleries and gardens to visit

Ochiltree Cottage, set in a rural riverside haven

Ochiltree is the largest of 4 spacious and comfortable cottages designed to make self catering an enjoyable experience. After your adventures exploring all Dumfries & Galloway has to offer this is a perfect place to rest and recover. 3 ensuite bedrooms, 2 are family rooms 1 containing a double bed and a single bed, the second contains a double and 2 singles. The 3rd smaller bedroom contains a single bed. There is also kitchen/dining facilities as well as a TV area in an open plan layout.

Garlies Lodge

Located within the Galloway Forest Park (Britain's first nominated Dark Sky Park) in the small, tranquil village of Glentrool, surrounded by nature, with direct access to surrounding hills, ancient woodland, forest trails and Loch Trool. Garlies Lodge, is a detached former hunting lodge which once belonged to the Earl of Galloway is set within 5 acres of grounds and offers spacious accommodation for up to 10 guests who enjoy getting away from it all and enjoy the great outdoors.

Oak Tree Hut

Unfortunately no dogs/children/infants are allowed. Oak Tree Hut is situated on our working sheep farm in Dumfries and Galloway. The views from the hut looks over St John’s Town of Dalry and up onto the Rhinns of Kells. Lie in bed watching the sunrise and sit on the verandah or soak in the outside bath while watching the sunset. Watch the bird life and livestock peacefully fly and amble by. The hut has everything you need to make your stay comfortable and memorable.

Signal Box

The Signal Box is a cosy retreat to switch off in nature. On the edge of Galloway Forest Park and within the UNESCO Biosphere, it’s surrounded by wildlife. Culzean Castle and Country Park is a 40-min drive. Nearby, wild swimming is available at Girvan Beach, Galloway Forest Park, and the Water of Minnoch in Glen Trool. Galloway Forest highlights include scenic trails, Bruce’s Stone, and the Red Deer Range. On the edge of the Dark Sky Park, it’s perfect for stargazing.

Bridgeview, The Hollow

Relax with the whole family at this peaceful place to stay at Bridgeview in Creetown. Situated next door to woodland walks and rivers, the scenery is stunning. There is also a children’s play park next door for all the family to enjoy! Creetown hosts a gem stone museum and a heritage museum. Within a 20min drive there is also a Cocobean chocolate factory, Mossy yard beach, Kirroughtree biking trail and the red deer range park. All fantastic for the whole family!

The Potager Tree House

Situated within the vegetable garden five feet up. Unfortunately, not suitable for disabled access. There is a tree coming up through the balcony which gets full sun in the morning for breakfast alfresco. Living area is small and quirky but with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Outside there is a BBQ, a wood fired whiskey barrel hot tub and enough coals and logs provided for one night. The garden is secure and dog friendly. Private entry and parking.
