The slow monday sits on the edge of protected forest (a cassowary corridor) just a stroll from the beach. A modern take on the classic Australian beach shack, the house is designed for the Queensland tropics. There are two pavilions, one for living and the other for sleeping, all with large glass sliding doors that open up to let the environment in.

Birdwing Hut in the Rainforest

This simple hut nestled into the rainforest is a birdwatcher's paradise! The property is entirely off-grid and is situated in a wildlife hotspot, with 100 acres of wet tropics rainforest connected to the World Heritage listed Maalan National Park. An ideal base for nature lovers to explore the Atherton Tableland, the bird list includes over 200 species, including Victoria's Riflebird, Blue-faced Parrot finch. Mammals include Tree kangaroos and Herbert River and Green Ringtail Possums.

Litoria is a pavilion home tucked against reserve, about 150m from the beach. You’ll love Litoria’s breezeway and living pod that opens to capture the sea breezes. With 2 bedrooms and 1.5 bathrooms, free Wi-Fi and a fully fenced yard, Litoria provides the perfect getaway for couples or small families (including the furry kind). Enjoy watching the butterflies and birds in the garden from the verandah. .

We are close to many well known National Parks rainforest walks and Etty Bay which is a Qld Surf Life Saving patrolled beach with a stinger enclosure.
