Maggie's Cottage is located in the beautiful valley of Glencar, The Highlands of Kerry. With spectacular views of Caragh Lake and the McGillycuddy Reeks, Ireland's highest mountains. Glencar is located in the only Gold Tier Dark Sky area in the Northern Hemisphere. Maggie's has just completed an extensive refurbishment of the original cottage and added a modern extension for the living area.

Situated at the foot of the rugged and beautiful MacGillycuddy’s Reeks, which include Ireland’s highest mountain Carrauntoohill, Fia Lodge is a delightful place embedded in a magnificent scenery. Built in 2018, it owes its name to the wild deer (“fia” in Gaelic) that frequently pass through the property and add to the magical ambience of this picturesque location.

Our cottage is the original dwelling, dating from many years before the 20th Century, next to our house that was built in the 1920s as the then local shop. We have completely refurbished it so that it now offers comfortable accommodation for a couple or two people. It has a sleeping loft plus spare sofa bed, kitchenette, shower room and open plan eating and sitting area. It is set in the most beautiful world famous Kerry countryside, with the MacGillycuddy mountains sweeping down to the site.
