The Nut House is nestled in the 65000 + acre Shawnee State Forest. It is a unique COMPLETE get away in the forest in Southern Ohio. With 16’ cathedral ceilings, custom crafted artisan interior that compliments the view! Blue Creek has earned the name “The Little Smokies” for good reason. Comfort and privacy! This cabin is located on a quiet, secluded and wooded lot in the town of Campton. It is approximately five miles to the Sky Bridge entrance of the Red River Gorge and 10-15 minutes from other local attractions such as The Gorge Underground, Muir Valley, Miguel’s, Sky Bridge Station, Hops, La Cabaña & much more. Minutes to grocery stores, 145 Roadhouse, Kel’s Patriot Pizza, Sweet Art by Stephanie, beer/liquor stores, Campton City Park & free gym access at The Warehouse Gym.

On our twenty acre preserve, there are 5 cave entrances and two caves that open into the State Park gorge, with many box canyons and waterfalls to explore. Whether you're enjoying the State Park's massive natural bridges, cave tours, horseback riding, swimming, fishing or kayaking on Smoky Lake or Tygarts Creek, our Cliffside Cabin rental is a great place to relax and explore.

The kitchen is stocked with supplies for preparing your own meals, but downtown Portsmouth restaurants are just 10 minutes away. Outside are patios for relaxing and woods for walking.

Walking path runs the length of the campground. Bring bed linens (sleeping bag or blanket/sheet) & pillow, bath linens (towels/washcloths).
