From here you can enjoy the countryside by walking or biking, short or longer routes. A folder in the cottage has a selection of maps, which you are welcome to use and choose a route straight from the door. Castleton Stunning Peak Cavern Gorge Location

Torside is the closest dwelling to Peak Cavern in the stunning and 'other worldly' Peak Cavern Gorge. The Gorge is a SSSI and one of the Seven Wonders of the Peak. A further three renowned show caverns, 7 pubs, cafes and shops are within walking distance. The scenery is dramatic and ever changing as the weather rolls in over Mam Tor from the West. Temperature inversions create outstanding conditions for photography. The cottage is vernacular and decorated to English Heritage standards.

Cave End Cottage is over 300 years old and is our much loved second home. Many original features remain including wobbly walls, wooden beams and a beautiful, large fireplace. It's perfectly located in Castleton at the bottom of Cavedale, a picturesque valley below Peveril Castle. Its central location in the village means it's close to all attractions, shops, pubs and restaurants. Equipped to accommodate all your needs the property's also on a dead-end so there's no passing traffic.
