Fresh spring water flows though the property a gravity‑fed system, our on‑site waterfall generates clean hydroelectric power. There are two pavilions, one for living and the other for sleeping, all with large glass sliding doors that open up to let the environment in.

Birdwing Hut in the Rainforest

This simple hut nestled into the rainforest is a birdwatcher's paradise! The property is entirely off-grid and is situated in a wildlife hotspot, with 100 acres of wet tropics rainforest connected to the World Heritage listed Maalan National Park. An ideal base for nature lovers to explore the Atherton Tableland, the bird list includes over 200 species, including Victoria's Riflebird, Blue-faced Parrot finch. Mammals include Tree kangaroos and Herbert River and Green Ringtail Possums.

Enjoy watching the butterflies and birds in the garden from the verandah. .

Just a 100 meter stroll to beautiful South Mission Beach and close access to coastal walking tracks and rainforest trails. Our simple, comfy retro shack has everything you need for a chilled out beachside stay. You can even bring your boat, there's plenty of room for a boat trailer on our block and river and beach boat ramps close by.
