Những điều bạn sẽ làm
You'll arrive at my jewellery studio on a farm in the new forest at 9:30am (10:00am Saturdays) welcomed with light refreshments. Once we've introduced ourselves and gone over basic health & safety instructions, I'll ask you to complete a form with your emergency contact details on and signed permission for photography throughout the day. You'll then proceed to sketch out your design for the piece of silver jewellery that you'd like to make (usually a bangle, pendant or earrings). I will go through the designs with each individual student, advising on the steps required to create it, supply the silver you'll need, and guide you onto the next step of the process. Throughout the morning you will work on your project (sawing out the shape, filing rough edges smooth, texturing using various hammers for different effects, and soldering silver together using a blow torch, after a group soldering demonstration by me) with breaks for tea & coffee along the way. You'll have the chance to select music from my vinyl collection to play as you work should you wish! After breaking for a delicious two course lunch, we will continue to progress on your piece of jewellery until it's complete - the day ends at 2:30pm (3:00pm on a Saturday). The majority of students find the time given ample to complete their jewellery project. Your design will be polished overnight & returned/posted the next
Other things to note
All the equipment and materials are provided for the day. You may wish to bring any designs you have been thinking of making – I will contact you in advance regarding this. In the winter I do have heaters in the studio, but it’s always worth wrapping up warm. Bring glasses if you need them!

I am an artisan designer/maker of beautiful handcrafted sterling silver and gold jewellery, inspired by the sea and the new forest, where I live. My silversmithing experience has come through a mixture of classroom based courses and self taught instruction and experimentation, which began as a hobby just after my second child was born. My love of silversmithing (like my children) quickly grew, and I started making pieces for local galleries and gift shops, as well as bespoke personal pieces by private commission. Alongside these elements of my work, I have been running one day silversmithing workshops for the last year, to small groups (2-5 people per workshop, in order to ensure one to one support and tuition required for this skill). I am also a sculptor working in larger bronze pieces, which I exhibit in the T5 gallery at Heathrow.
