In this walking tour we enter the 800 year Koli village near their tiny dock. Our first pitstop is an ancient temple with a bizarre ritual. As we walk further we have tiny pitstops at the flour mill, 'Iron-man', Medical clinics, recycling shops, etc to understand how different businesses work in Indian communities and how there is space for more competition. We then enter a maze of streets which were built in the later 16th century to confuse the pirates. In the maze we observe the houses and culture of indigenous people and then walk through the fish market. Only women sell fish in this market.

Our penultimate pitstop is a fort built by the British and is still standing tall. There, we bask in the glory of the amazing view of the Mumbai skyline and it's contrasting nature.

On the way back we take a different route and see how Mumbai's indigenous tribe mends their boats and nets (this availability is depending on the day of the week and festivals. We don't choreograph locals into doing things. If it's there we observe and interact). Before we end we can stop by a Hindu crematorium and to discuss the rituals if it interests you.

An ardent storyteller who takes pride in Mumbai's spirit and India's cultures. My love for Mumbai and the zeal to share stories is what got me into tourism in the first place. I have successfully conducted private tours of local culture in Mumbai since 6 years for clients from across the world.

I earn to travel and I am an explorer at heart. I document my travel stories at @bombayactivist. My 3 best travel experiences:
1. Burning Man (2017 & 2018)
2. Havasupai (Arizona)
3. Spiti valley(Himalayas)

Prior to Travel & Tourism, I have academically worked with non-profits working on climate, education for underprivileged and gender equality. I consider myself as a global, aware and responsible citizen who respects diversity, ethnicity and human values. As a guide I present an over-arching view on society, economics, culture and politics.
