It is perched just above the waves with the most beautiful views across Portling Bay to the white sands of Merse Head nature reserve. The Lodge is not in a holiday park it stands alone with it's own private driveway, parking and garden. It’s so quiet, a retreat to escape and relax, by sitting watching and listening to the waves. A shepherds hut situated on the edge of the Lake District overlooking the Solway Firth, offering guests all the experience of outdoorsy glamping while providing a warm and cosy home to retreat to if the good old British weather takes a turn for the worse! it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. If you are bringing your furry friends, please add when booking under number of guests and let us know. Theres a small fee per stay of £20 to cover the costs of a deep clean.

Oak Tree Hut

Unfortunately no dogs/children/infants are allowed. Oak Tree Hut is situated on our working sheep farm in Dumfries and Galloway. The views from the hut looks over St John’s Town of Dalry and up onto the Rhinns of Kells. Lie in bed watching the sunrise and sit on the verandah or soak in the outside bath while watching the sunset. Watch the bird life and livestock peacefully fly and amble by. The hut has everything you need to make your stay comfortable and memorable.

Carrick Lodge at The Old Church, secluded retreat

Carrick Lodge is one of two lodges within the private grounds of our larger property, The Old Church. Set in a semi-rural location, it is a private and exceptionally comfortable space featuring a lovely private, secluded and sheltered covered decking area with wood burning stove, allowing you to enjoy nature all year round. The local grocery shop is less than a 5 minute walk, with many restaurants and outdoor attractions only a short drive.
