I Slättsjö finns många vackra promenadvägar genom ståtliga bokskogar både kortare promenader, dagsvandringar eller längre turer längs Skåneleden. Bygden är känd för sina många sjöar med spegelblankt vatten, närmaste sjö Gårdssjön 800 meter från stugan. Värsjön (3km) med långgrund sandstrand och bra fiske. Stugan är omgiven av goda svamp- och bärmarker med gott om både älg och rådjur.
