Farm House Retreat

This quaint 1743 farmhouse has been lovingly restored and offers a quiet reprieve from the city or rest from a long drive. We are at the end of a private road and are nestled among 70 acres of hardwood forest. Nights are dark and quiet and days are filled with free ranging chickens and guinea fowl. We are diligently rebuilding native habitat and work on site. Our home is on the property across the ponds. A confirmed identity is required for booking.

The house and cottage are both just 3 miles away from Waverly Estate wedding venue and offer chic and cozy accommodations for a small group of friends or family. The house consists of 2 bedrooms each with a queen bed and 1 full bathroom. The house has a fully stocked kitchen, spacious living room and dining area, and outdoor space.

Nestled on 22 mostly wood acres, "Rest for the Weary" in South-Central Virginia is 30 minutes from Farmville, (location of Green Front Furniture), in Lunenburg County. We're 7 minutes from Southside Virginia Community College, and 15 minutes from Hampden/Sydney College, and only 9 minutes from the Waverly Estate, a wedding venue in Lunenburg County. We're about 30 minutes from VCU Health Community Memorial Hospital.

Relax with the whole family at this peaceful place to stay. A cabin on a 20-acre wooded site with a pond in Keysville, VA, near Farmville, VA, home of Longwood University; historic civil war sites; state parks, such as Twin Lakes; an hour from Lynchburg home of Liberty University; 45 min from Appomattox, VA. The cabin has a water cooler with a built-in Keurig. EV charging is only with a 30 or 50 amp RV style plug.
