But if you've ever watched HGTV, you'll see that people across the country are creating short-term rentals out of all kinds of crazy things, from shipping containers and barns, to old warehouses. Well, in Cross Lanes WV, we took our cues from those folks on TV and created a short-term rental out of a storage unit! Conveniently located, just off I64, and only 1 mile to the Mardi Gras Casino.

Lovely, fully furnished 2 bedroom apartment with historic charm. Refinished hardwood floors and tons of natural light make this space beautiful and welcoming. Located the in the heart of small town Saint Albans, you’re just blocks away from dining options, library, coffee shop, and parks. Flat sidewalks make the neighborhood perfect for walking or running. Continental breakfast items provided for guests. Hot breakfast offered on weekends (Saturday and Sunday) upon request with 24 hour notice.

Quirky and Cute Upstairs Apartment

This apartment is super cute, and conveniently located in St. Albans, WV. It's on the city bus route and within walking distance to restaurants and grocery store. This is an almost 100 year old duplex, so the floor plan of this unit is a little quirky, in that you have to walk through the first bedroom to get to the 2nd bedroom and bathroom (see photos). It also has an accordion style door that separates the master bedroom from the living room. It’s a super comfy place, but privacy is limited.

When visiting the New River Gorge National Park and Preserve, stay at this quaint stone cottage less than a mile off of Route 19 in downtown Oak Hill, WV. Things to Note: This little cottage has skylights upstairs, so light floods into this space from sunrise to sundown. Also, the mattress is firm. Finally, the hot water is provided via a tankless hot water heater, which has been known to cause water temperature variability.
