The Historic Shearers Quarters are located 11 kms from SH1, on a working farm that has remained in the family for four generations. We are based in the beautiful Kawhatau Valley. A unique accommodation in the heart of the Rangitikei. Light the old shacklock stove, sit back and enjoy peace and quiet- all while only 10 mins from the superb Dukes Roadhouse Cafe. Please note this is a Historic Shearer's Quarters. If you have mobility issues please be aware there are no ramps and only steps.

Takapau Yurt Experience

Situated in the side garden by the main house on a privately owned sheep farm (42 acres). Stunning views across the valley from behind the yurt and mountain views from the beautiful native garden surrounding the house. Guest bathroom is inside the main house. Breakfast is included and dinner is available at request and additional charge from my fully licenced food truck. Local superette 5mins drive away in the village, several nearby bush walks and wineries within a 15 min drive.

It's just a 10 minute walk to the shops, cafes, theatre and is handy to the cycle trails of Central Hawkes Bay. The beaches and Ruahine Ranges are not far away and it's only a 30 - 40 minute drive to Hastings or Napier.

Ideal as a stay in between the major cities. Large parking space, enough to fit a small truck. Best suited for 2 guests.
