Or, go east to Loughrea (19km) where there's safe summer lake swimming.

Romantic Hideaway - 1850's Schoolhouse

The Old Schoolhouse was built in 1850, and has been beautifully restored. It's got a long and rich history, dating back to the Irish Famine. My dad went to school here, we lived in it as a family growing up and I wanted to share some of the history of the buildng with visitors. It's been updated with fast (150mb) fiber internet, and it's very cozy and warm. We just added a modern, private workspace outside for remote working - fast internet, private, monitors, great for Zoom calls!

The Crows Nest is set in Galway Countryside while at the same time located within a thirty-minute drive of Galway City, an hour drive to the Connemara gateway, and the same to access the Burren area which hosts the Cliffs of Moher. Locally we have a shop and pub within an easy walking distance . At Crumlin Park experience a real piece of Galway history. It is a nurturing place, a place to rest and unwind. Children love the farm animals and the chance to run around at will.

Sycamore Cottage, 2 bedroom cottage beside the sea

Sycamore Cottage is a lovely detached cottage situated in the village of Killeenaran, fifteen miles from Galway. All ground floor the cottage can sleep four people in two double bedrooms one with an en-suite shower room as well as a family bathroom. Also in the cottage is a kitchen and sitting room with dining area and oil-burning stove. Outside is ample off road parking and a lawned garden with patio and furniture. Ideally a car is necessary when staying at this cottage.

It is within walking distance of Esker Monastery and woodlands and is a very peaceful space to come to. There is a double bed in the bedroom and a double sofa bed in the the living area. Children are welcome to use the trampoline and anything else in the garden.

Meadowlands is a modern four bedroomed home with comfortable and spacious living, dining & kitchen areas, large back garden, plenty of parking and a fifteen minute walk to the centre of Mountbellew. Ideally located to explore local amenities such as the Bellew Estate and Woodland (across the road), the Hymany Way and other walking and cycling routes taking in river, bog and woodland as well providing an excellent base to explore the West of Ireland.
