Craigiehall Temple (historic property built 1759)

Built in 1759 and situated in its own grounds on a former part of the Craigiehall Estate, its Grade A listed for its stunning portico displaying the arms of the 1st Marquess of Annandale. A plaque on the wall carries a quote from Horace: "Dum Iicet in rebus jucundis vive beatus", "Live happy while you can among joyful things". Relax in a modern home on our 20 hectare (50 acre) working farm just a few miles south of the Edinburgh city bypass. The apartment includes 3 rooms with a private external entrance and a locked internal door if needed. The single bedroom is ensuite; the other main room is a living space with a kitchenette and large sofa bed. We are close to the route south / north too and from Edinburgh but far enough away (1.5km) to not get interrupted by road / traffic noise.

The Pottery, nestled in the tree line across from our cottage, looks directly out onto the stunning Borthwick castle. This is a lovely area for walkers, hikers or anyone seeking peace and quiet in a tranquil environment or a romantic weekend getaway nestled below a remote historic castle. The hamlet is also only 30min drive (or 20min train) into central Edinburgh- perfect balance of city to green countryside. Please note we cannot accommodate children or pets.

Self-catering accommodation located on the outskirts of Edinburgh, close to Roslin Chapel (famous from Da Vinci Code) and with Roslin Glen right on your doorstep. Only 25minute drive to the centre of Edinburgh, this is a perfect peaceful and quiet retreat close to the city. Kitchen, Wi‑Fi, heating, laundry facilities and TV and many others included. There is one king size bed available to suit two guests. There are no cot or cradle facilities for infants.
