Azalea House is on the slope of Mt. Hiei, a world-heritage. To get there, drive 20 min. from Kyoto-Higashi exit on Meishin. Or ride the bus 30 min. from downtown Kyoto or 20 min. from JR Otsukyo Sta. and get off before Hieidaira convenience store. The host will meet you there. Bus service drastically reduced since Covid-19. Free parking space. Easy access to both Kyoto and Lake Biwa. Rich in nature. Completely detached, full privacy, handy & cozy like home. YAMANOTE HOUSE is accessible from major Kansai stations with 37min from Kyoto Sta. or 65min from Osaka Sta. If you come by car from Kyoto it takes less than 1 hour. The area aournd the house is once small castle town. The house is located next to the Shrine, Hiyoshi-Jinja, where the Omizo Festival is held on May 3 and 4 every year.

As featured on the NYTimes T list, this property is a "Kyomachiya", a traditional Japanese home over 100 years old. It has been revamped from a "Nishijin-ori" (traditional Japanese textile) factory. It is located in the traditional Kamigyo Ward, minutes walk from the Imperial Palace. We collaborated with award winning architects at Ikken to renovate this space, which now accommodates the comforts of modern life, while retaining many of the original structure and elements from its past.

A Japanese traditional house CHANOMI located in the heart of Kyoto. Measuring a spacious 58㎡. CHANOMI was built in 1919, but spacious and comfortable. We have GOEMON-BURO(bath tub) next to shower room. Please try searching "GOEMON-BURO" !! Guests can enjoy your garden while enter the GOEMON-BURO. 2 minutes to Sijo-Dori(downtown) on foot, guests can enjoy shopping and access to public transportations soon.
