Driftwood Cottage, Gower. A perfect beach getaway

Driftwood cottage is a compact and beautiful detached 18th century stone cottage, set in it's own small garden and based in the idyllic hamlet of Cwm Ivy in North Gower. A magical walk from the property leads through the Whitford National Nature Reserve to both Whitford Sands and Broughton Bay (both are within half a mile). The Gower peninsular offers an array of beautiful coastal walks, open grasslands, woodland and marsh walks. It also boasts some of the most spectacular beaches in the UK.

New barn conversion. I have tried to maintain the character. The decor is Agri/industrial, reusing as much of the raw materials around the farm. It has three king-size beds all on-suite. 1 x Very large bedroom upstairs with sofa and balcony and 2 smaller ground floor bedrooms. Each room has a TV and wifi. The main living room includes a kitchen, a table, a large L-shaped sofa and coffee table: an outdoor table and chairs, BBQ and a covered area for storing bikes and a EV Charger (50p/kw) etc.

With the Loughor Estuary and the Wales Coastal Path within walking distance. Situated close to the Gower, with a number of beautiful beaches and coastal walks. An hour's drive to the Brecon Beacons National Park with its amazing hills, forests and waterfalls. About an hour and a half drive leads to both Tenby and the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.

The Lodge is well placed, within 10 minutes of The National show caves for Wales, Henrhyd waterfall and the hugely impressive Four Waterfalls country. In addition, if you want to get high, the property is located only 15 minutes from Zip World and 30 minutes from Pen Y Fan. If you prefer beaches we are 30 minutes from Swansea bay and the Mumbles.

This beautifully presented and fully refurbished holiday cottage was originally built in 1892 and is situated on the edge of a quiet wooded area above Underhill park. It is a 5 minute walk from the beaches of Rotherslade and Langland and a 10 minute walk to Oystermouth castle and the village of mumbles. It has private parking for 2 vehicles in a double car port. Parking is also available at the roadside above the cottage. Nearby activities: watersports, surfing, fishing, golf, walking.

There is a double sofa bed in the lounge so the barn will sleep 8, a single guest bed can be added to the twin/ or a travel cot. No 1 Cathelyd Colliery Stables is a dog friendly property renovated from a pit pony stables. Next door, No 2 is slightly larger and can be booked separately on Airbnb. There are walks on the doorstep being next to the Cwm Clydach bird reserve and the cottage has its own private valley walk with a waterfall. We are situated 3 miles from J45 of the M4 with easy access to Swansea, Gower and the Brecon Beacons. The Swansea Cycle path is on the doorstep. The town is a mile away.
