Design Cottage Close to Icelandic Countryside & Reykjavik

Step into one of the oldest homes in town, dating from 1884. Curated by the owners of the design studio Reykjavík Trading Co., The Garden Cottage has been completely remodeled to provide a unique feeling, with a lot of the furniture handmade or meticulously crafted and selected from their travels to California, Scandinavia & Mexico. The land behind The Garden Cottage is home to their designed greenhouse, communal garden, chickens and their most recent addition, The Shed which is their workshop / shop where you can visit for a coffee, buy pieces or see their process of making objects. Curated by the owners & designers of Reykjavík Trading Co. (an Icelandic / California homeware company) the Garden Cottage is their first project of creating a home space for guests to experience a unique & cozy feeling while visiting Iceland. The bottom floor of the 1884 built home has been completely remodeled for guests. Everything in the home has been either made by hand by R.T.Co. or selected from their collection of preferred products & appliances. Anthony Bacigalupo & Ýr Káradóttir, the owners of The Garden Cottage, live & work in the separate upper part of the historic home & their R.T.Co. workshop is located in the back of the garden for guests to visit, learn about the pieces being crafted, or just to have a cup of coffee. We wanted to create a place for guests to experience "slow living" & create a special stay. Having designed spaces for hotels, cafes, bars we decided to put our inspiration & collection into this project & build something completely one-of-a-kind in Iceland. The home was built in 1884 & we have been remodeling & bringing back the style it once was but also bringing back the garden & farm style that was once so prominent back in the day. We believe in hospitality to the fullest which sadly doesn't exist anymore in places. Since we live on the property we can answer any questions you have or have you in for a coffee if you need help deciding your journey in Iceland. The cottage is in the oldest part of Hafnarfjörður, a small harbor town. There are great farm-to-table restaurants, bakeries, live music, artist studios and swimming pools nearby. It’s conveniently located across the road from the town’s bus terminal. The house has three stories but is broken into two flats- we live on the upper floors with our children with separate driveway and front door- but we are here for anything you need or to have a coffee in the greenhouse! Our little town can be easily walked around & explored. Shuttle stops for airport & Blue Lagoon are 3 minutes walk next to the ocean & the bus terminal into Reykjavík is close as well.

It’s a perfect place to enjoy the tranquility of nature and wait and see what it has in store for you We designed this house to get the ultimate luxury experience while immersing yourself in nature The roof windows are especially designed to have a look at the stars and dont let any Northern light action pass by unseen It’s all brand new and we cant wait to host you! For security we have fire extinguisher, smoke detectors and motion sensors. No cameras on site.

Close to Reykjavík, a cute little house, a hot tub

Lyngholt is the name of this little house, it is located in Bræðratunga in the outskirt of Mosfellsbæ, only 50 minutes drive from the International Airport. Lyngholt is surrounded with fir trees and birch, moss and mountains, with hiking trails all around, and near by is the lake Hafravatn. 2 km to the next grocery store, and 3 km to the center of Mosfellsbæ, where you can find a bakery, restaurants and library. About 600 meters to the bus stop, where you can take the bus to Reykjavík centrum

A cozy house in the old west side of Reykjavík’s center. Located in a quiet and beautiful street a few minutes walk from the old harbor and the lively city center, where you can find restaurants, cafes, bars, museums, shops etc. Within walking distance you can find supermarkets and our local swimming pool. The house is fully equipped with all modern facilities such as Wi-Fi and washing machine. It includes two bedrooms one with king size bed and the other with a sleeper sofa for 1-2 persons.

One bedroom cosy apartment in the heart of the city. Close to restaurants,bars,cafés,shops ,the landmark church and the main bus station. The apartment is 65 m2 apartment and it consists of an open plan kitchen ,living room and bedroom.The bedroom has one king size bed that can be pulled apart, living room has a sofabed that is 140 cm x 200 .The bathroom is spacious with a bathtub and a shower. The apartment has a private entrance and is on second floor in a friendly 2 apartment house.

A whole apartment (90m2) with a private entrance, on two floors in a charming, bright and cozy house - in a quiet courtyard. Less than 5 minutes walk from the center of Reykjavik, right by the the whale safari harbour amids a myriad of restaurants. The beauty of this place is that it is as lovely for one person, as it is practical for a close group (a family?) of up to 5 people. The location is the best you can find in Reykjavik quiet but with the city center on the doorstep.

The house is close to Hamraborg bus station (10 minutes walk), local swimming pool (called "Sundlaug Kópavogs" which we highly recommend), Sky Lagoon, bakery, supermarket, pharmacy and more.
