Granny Women healers of early Appalachia used herbs, common sense, Celtic spells, prayer, moonshine, and the King James Bible to heal all ailments. Based on long oral traditions and reconstructed on the spot were Granny Woman O'Clery's husband built a tiny cabin before being killed in a Indian attack. The space features a full kitchen with a dishwasher, a work desk, and a full-size stacked washer and dryer. Both bedrooms have queen beds. The central downtown location means you can walk to everything Roanoke has to offer, including the "Exchange". Paid daily parking (by the day) available in the adjacent lot.

Falling Pines Historic Cabin

The original log cabin was built in 1936 by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC). These cabins were built after the Blue Ridge Parkway was laid in 1935, which is just down the street. With love and attention our cabin's renovations were complete in 2017. We kept the original log walls to add a rustic feel to the contemporary, crisp clean decor. The cottage overlooks the babbling waters of Back Creek but is just a 5 minute drive to the grocery store, private yet convenient.
