Rotonda West, Florida, Hoa Kỳ

It is very quiet and safe neighborhood. Rotonda West (Englewood area) is a deed restricted community of mainly single family homes located on the Cape Haze peninsula just south of Englewood in Charlotte County in SW Florida.

Rotonda West is laid out in the shape of an incomplete wagon wheel master-planned community with over 20,000 acres of greenbelts, fairways, ponds, lakes and 23 miles of waterways made up of seven distinct subdivisions (spokes in the wheel) comprising Oakland Hills, Pebble Beach, Pinehurst, Broadmoor, Long Meadow, White Marsh, and Pine Valley. An area noted for its tranquil and unspoiled beaches, Rotonda West is the perfect base from which to explore nearby state parks, the Everglades, sophisticated Sarasota, and Naples.

In the center of Rotonda West off Parade Circle there is a community park with tennis courts, nature trail, childrens play area and BBQ. It is approximately a 20 minute drive to Englewood Beach. There are five golf courses within Rotonda West - The Palms, The Hills, The Links, Long Marsh and Pinemoor).

30 miles of picturesque canals, lakes and ponds wind through the community and offer fishing and boating opportunities for its residents. A protected wetland preserve to the south prevents development of that area. Alligators, Great Blue Herons, Egrets, Bobcats, Raccoons, Armadillos, Gopher Tortoises, Turtles, and many other birds and animals inhabit the area. Rotonda West is a designated Bird Sanctuary.

ENGLEWOOD is known as the "Gem of the Sun Coast", "the Heart of the Sun Coast", "a bit of Heaven on Earth", "a place unspoiled by high rises and high prices", and "where the livin' is easy".

Englewood is a community of communities, set comfortably on an area straddling two counties, harbored by several small islands and magnificent beaches in a tropical setting.

Englewood is a beach community that thrives on its cultural events, nature parks, beaches, fishing, boating, and so much more. Located on beautiful Lemon Bay, off the coast of the Gulf of Mexico, Englewood is just a short 85 mile trip away from metropolitan Tampa Bay, 90 miles north of Naples, 50 miles north of Fort Myers, and only 35 miles south of Sarasota.

Englewood is easily accessible from U.S. Route 41 or Interstate 75. Celebrated every Labor Day Weekend, Englewood commemorates the pioneers who were responsible for its origin in 1896. Golf and fishing tournaments, boat races and a huge parade bring this community to life. Other annual celebrations include an Art Guild Show, Seafood Festival, July Beach Bash with Fireworks, as well as the annual Turtle Watch when Sea Turtles come ashore to lay their eggs in the sand.

The traffic in ENGLEWOOD area is not too heavy during the winter time in comparison, for example, to Ft. Myers area. There are a few nice beaches of Manasota Key (Manasota Public Beach, Blind Pass Park, Englewood Beach, and Stump Pass Beach State Park).

ENGLEWOOD area has 4 beaches on this barrier island. Manasota Public Beach and Blind Pass Beach both offer a variety of amenities.
Manasota Beach boasts 14 acres of gulf front beach and sand dunes with special areas for sheltered tables, barbecue pits, boardwalks and bathhouse facilities.

Blind Pass Beach is ideal for swimming and fishing and has more than 60 acres of nature trails. There's a docking area for boaters on the Intracoastal Waterway.

The most developed Englewood Beach offers recreation areas, boardwalk, picnic tables, and concession stands as well as conveniently located nearby restaurants, shops, and nightclubs.

Englewood Beach (at Chadwick Park) recently was completely renovated with new sand, boardwalks, facilities, and a very large parking lot with pay stations. Walking south from Englewood Beach is Stump Pass Beach - a narrow strip of sand that offers anglers a great place to fish.

The Southwest Coast of Florida, and Englewood in particular, has a variety of shells (about 350 types of them could be found there) for the serious or just fun-loving shell collector to find. Many of these shells not only arrive on the beach intact, surviving the trip to shore, but are still inhabited and very much alive.

Many shells found on local beaches are the Left Handed Whelks, the Auger shells, Coquina shells and, caught at low tide, the Rough Scallop and the Fighting Conch that are great for chowders.

Another common find is Shark Teeth that usually come ashore after a storm. Some of these shark teeth are over a million years old, black and brown colored, ranging from a tiny 1/8th inch to three inches long.

Enjoy the most spectacular angling in Florida, including the infamous Tarpon Fishing at Boca Grande, soak in the warm sunshine, breath in the clean air and dig your toes in the sand of Florida's least crowded beaches.

We are a busy family with 2 talented young adult sons (23 and 21 y.o.) who are working and studying. The oldest son, Evan, works full time in IT field after getting 4 associate degrees. The youngest son, Daniel, is full time student in medical faculty in University of Lille, France, studying in French language. They both like to study, read, play different musical instruments (accordion or violin), play computer games, etc. MILLA - speaks Russian, English, Esperanto (was teaching Esperanto in Moscow, Soviet Union), understands Polish and some Eastern European languages (Slavic). She was also an accountant, tax preparer in the past, now full time homemaker and properties' manager. She also has certificate of "Family Herbalist" and grows many perennial plants (flowers, herbs), and advises the oldest son how to work with the plants. You can see what Milla shares on her F-cebo-k page as lyudmila.filatova (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) She used to have professional profile on Linnkedin with more than 3,000 professional connections and followers, after posting a few articles and participating in multiple discussions in different groups. If you would like to read MILLA's and her husband ALEX's recent interviews (and other participants in the project) to the "Voice of Russia" - online radio - newspaper (in English), you can see englis (Website hidden by Airbnb) ru / expats-8 / (or (Website hidden by Airbnb) / voiceofrussia / / expats-8/), englis (Website hidden by Airbnb) ru /expats-6 /, forwarded to us by the American correspondent Sarah Neary from Russia (journalist for "Voice of Russia" in Moscow). This was a big "Voice of Russia" project of interviewing Americans who lived in Russia for more than 10 years and Russians who lived in America for more than 10 years. They expressed interesting opinions about both countries (in comparison) and their differences in culture, traditions and way of life. ALEX - speaks Russian, English, French, Esperanto, a little bit Polish, Spanish, German, understands many eastern European languages (Slavic). He worked as a teacher, teaching Physics in French to the foreign university's students (in Boumerdes Oil Institute in Algeria) in his younger years. He has Master degree in Physics (plasma physics) from Peoples' Friendship University of Russia which is educational and research institution formerly known as Patrice Lumumba University. Until the collapse of the Soviet Union, the school awarded full scholarships to everyone, and the Communist Party offered subsidies that paid round-trip airfare and room and board, plus a stipend generous enough for students to use to build a nest egg. More than 70 percent of the 6,500 students were foreigners. For the Russians, the school offered the first contact with foreigners in nearly a generation and a first contact with blacks. The school was named Patrice Lumumba University, in honor of the first prime minister of the African nation now called Zaire, a figure who was a vocal critic of the West and who was assassinated. The university reverted to its original name, without anyone taking much notice. Alex is retired since (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) after working for more than 20 years as senior computer programmer analyst in German corporation in WI. He likes martial arts sports and already earned his first Black Belt in Karate. MILLA - 59 y.o. and her husband Alex - 71 y.o. were born in Moscow, Russia. They both are highly educated professionals. The older son Evan at 12 y.o. built his first websites - (rentflorida and plantsale) on the "w-e-e-b-l-y" platform: rentflorida d o t *w- e- e- b- l- (y ... and plantsale d o t *w- e- e- b- l- (y ... with "com" at the end. Also Evan built alternative news website-blog for Milla: OPPANEWS, and of course, "com" at the end. You can read in the "About me" section on this website why Milla started sharing information that is important to be aware of. The younger son Daniel built his first computer from the parts he ordered online at 12 y.o. Daniel's passion is playing violin since his early age and he played the instrument professionally in the community symphony orchestra in the local Kenosha, WI university and in '17-'18 he played with Lake County Symphony Orchestra. He was winning Wisconsin Exemplary Violin Player Award (WSMA Exemplary Solo Award) in the last two years of him being a student in '16 - '18. On YouTubbe you can find him being recorded playing ZIGEUNERWEISEN by Pablo Sarasate in final school Symphony orchestra concert. Type "Daniel Nilov plays violin" or "Daniel Nilov plays accordion" to watch his performance. We were planning to retire in the nearest future and to live during the coldest part of the year in Costa Rica's Guanacaste province (in Las Playas del Coco, or Coco), where we owned 2bdr/2bthr CONDO by the beach, but our plans changed and we sold our beautiful Condo which was advertised on Airbnb on the link You can rent other condo there from our friends. If you need the place very close to the beach, then condos in this Las Palmas area are the perfect answer. Location: 'Coco condo' is located in Coco or Las Playas del Coco in Guanacaste province of NW Pacific area of Costa Rica. The condos in the Las Palmas development of Coco where many American and Canadian expats are living is only in 3 blocks from the Coco beach on Papagayo Bay, in 2 min work from restaurants and mini-market Luperon. You don't need to have a car there. Condo managers can meet guests at the LIR (Liberia Int.) airport and drive them for 25 min to reserved condos (at $30 fee, while taxi will cost $55). Translated into English, Costa Rica means “Rich Coast,” and even the most cursory glance affirms that Costa Rica is graced with an innate wealth beyond mere currency. It is a highly literate, peaceful, healthy, and environmentally conscious democracy. Costa Rica’s literacy rate is 94.9%, it constitutionally dismantled its military in '48 and it has a health care system ranked 3rd in the world and first among the Americas in the Environmental Performance Index. The incredible natural riches found in this small land include countless lakes, rivers, and waterfalls; some of the world's best beaches, rain-forests, and fiery volcanoes; and thousands of diverse species of flora and fauna. An essential ecotourism destination, Costa Rica’s biodiversity is also visually dramatic. The terrain encompasses a vast panorama of natural sights, from the immaculate Pacific beaches on the west to the exotic Caribbean shores on the east, upward through rugged and prolific mountains, and culminating in the towering peak of Cerro Chirripó at 12,530 feet. The northwestern province of Guanacaste provides a stunning backdrop for many of Costa Rica’s popular pastimes, including horseback riding, windsurfing, snorkeling, scuba diving among brilliant tropical fish, and top-tier golfing. Here, one can soak any woes away in nearby hot springs, watch a spectacular sunset from a hideaway on the “Gold Coast,” or embark on a deep-sea fishing expedition from Las Playas del Coco, or Playa Flamingo, whose waters teem with marlin, tuna, swordfish, and snapper. Costa Rica is well-known as the original getaway outpost for semi-expat Americans when having an off-shore home became a practical alternative to Florida and California. Still rated by the Happy Planet Index as the happiest country in the world, Costa Rica has safe streets, nice weather, good medical care, a thriving economy and is only a 2.5 hour flight to the United States. You can read more about this in my blog - OPPANEWS in the category "Vacation rental in Costa Rica", where you can find my information and call me if you have more questions. Also you can see the category "Costa Rica". The famous American actor Mel Gibson has his house not far from Las Playas del Coco beach, (in the mountains): "Mel Gibson's Costa Rica Home and 500-Acre Property" (search on the internet).
