During our tour, we will be sure to cover all major landmarks like the Basilica of St Lawrence, and the Grove Park Arcade, but we will also go off the beaten path to explore the Block, the YMI, Woolworth Walk's old-timey soda fountain, and Wall St's catwalk! During the trip, I will be providing insider tips on the best places to eat, drink and play for the best prices, including the places where locals hang out for free! We will discuss hidden gems that many people walk by daily without ever noticing an eagle overhead, the faces engraved on the wall, or secret mice! We will dive deeper into Asheville's "buy local" culture and what that means for companies who get listed as "sell-outs." Also, we will discuss stories of sabotage, controversy, and little-known success stories of previous residents! We will also check out a cool museum called Leaf Global and taste local spirits from a distillery! At the end, my guest will get discount beer tickets to taste some local brews from one of Asheville's finest, local breweries called Twin Leaf. Hikers will learn about our famous llamas' interesting histories and how to safely handle the animals before heading out on a hike with gorgeous mountaintop views on our private trails. Each group gets 1 to 3 loveable llamas to share, depending on group size. There’s plenty of time for llama cuddles and, of course, llama selfies! This moderate hike is around 1 mile long and does require requires walking uphill on rocky and sometimes slippery terrain. This experience lasts approximately an hour and a half. Please note: This event takes place in Eastern Standard Time.
Coffee Hike to Three Waterfalls
Love hiking and coffee? You've found the right place. We have over 300 waterfalls around Brevard and searching different trail websites gets confusing to try and pick which one to visit, so I will make it easy, we’ll visit three of my personal favorites along a 3.5 mile loop. The terrain is mostly even, gravel trail with two steep sections (about 70 yards) that will get your heart pumping, but the views are worth the climbs. To me there's nothing better than slowing down to appreciate the moment in nature with a great cup of coffee (and new friends!). On this hike you will try my locally roasted coffee medium roast, called "Trail Magic". I recently hired the best hiking guides in WNC and we can't wait to lead you on a coffee hike! Here's our plan. 1. We will meet at The Hooker Falls parking area in DuPont State Forest, and hike to Hooker Falls. Here we'll break to brew and share coffee together. You'll learn how to make coffee in the woods including how to filter water from the waterfall. 2. We'll head to Triple Falls. It's up a steep climb but we will take our time and the view is totally worth it. 3. After some pictures of Triple Falls, we'll keep hiking on to High Falls, a stunning end to our adventure. Need a different date or time from what's listed? We have multiple guides, so please send date and time requests and we will do our best to accommodate!
Floating Bar Crawl Tour
Asheville is known for Beer and Nature! We combine the two. This is a fun trip to bar hop by raft. We will casually float down river and take out 2 or 3 times to hit up some local bars and breweries. I will have a cooler with ice and you are welcome to bring your own beverages along. We will relax and enjoy cold beverages and river views. We will stop at The Wedge Brewery at the Foundation and grab some food from the food truck. We will end at New Belgium Brewery. I recommend parking at Hominy Creek River Park and then taking a ride share to retrieve your vehicle when you are safe to drive. You can leave your vehicle overnight there if you need to. We will meet you by the stairs to the river. Other things to note: Must be comfortable with water. Kids at least 15 can accompany their parents but obviously will not be able to consume alcohol. Gratuity for the guide is appreciated.
