If you would like to go a bit further from Vilnius to see a historic city and lake resort in Lithuania, then I would recommend Trakai. It has a beautiful castle, surrounded by the lakes. If you are thinking how to get there, Vilnius offers car-sharing/car-clubs services (CityBee or e-Spark) and you can easily rent a car for a few hours to drive around/outside the city. If you're heading to Trakai, don't forget to try the famous dish "Kibinai"!
