Awesome park that will leave you breathless in it's beauty! Recreational activities include hiking, boating, canoeing, fishing, swimming, disc golf. This park is so amazing and within 5 miles of the cottage. It is well worth visiting.

The Natchez trace parkway "The Trace" is a 444 mile National parkway that extends from Natchez, MS to Nashville, TN. The Trace is a two lane parkway with no commercial traffic and beautifully preserves a rich Native American and Early American settler history while preserving the fantastic natural landscape. There are several points of interest along the Tishomingo County section of the parkway - Bear Creek Mound and Bear Creek Cave are well worth the stop! The trace also runs through a section of Tishomingo State Park and is just a lovely leisurely drive with frequent rest stops/restrooms/short hiking trails/points of interest along the way. If you have the time to drive the entire parkway from Natchez to Nashville it is well worth it! Access to the parkway is less than 5 miles from the guest cottage at Sander's landing.

My Favorite Recreational location
Bay Springs lake is 9 miles long, covers 6700 acres with 133 miles of shoreline. A hiking trail to the lake is available from the guest cottage - just walk off the deck for a very short hike to the water.....awesome recreational lake activities include swimming, fishing, boating, kayaking, paddle boarding, skiing, tubing, just pure water fun!
