Degersand is a beach that opens up to the ocean. It's a nice spot in the evening and at night. They have a restaurant where you can get Moules Frites. Call and check that they are open. The beach is always open though.

A café set in an old mental hospital. It's a very good bakery and lunch spot and nearby is a lake which has warmer water and rarely any people.

We haven't tried this ourselves but we've been there and when you enter the wooden house, it's like walking into a 1920's New York hotel. Check it out. Their food is supposed to be very good.

This is a new place, opened this year. It's basically a small kiosk by the road but they serve tasty burgers and this is the only place in Hammarland where you can be served a beer or a glass of wine. Worth visiting if you don't want to travel far. Check before you go, they have weird opening hours

Nautical is a fancy and very good restaurant in Mariehamn. Get a window seat and you get a nice view of the sailing ship Pommern. During summer they are only open for dinner. Their terrace lunch is not the same as the restaurant above but during the evenings the terrace is a nice hang out with DJ's playing music etc.

Åland is good place for growing apples and at Öfvergårds you can buy different refined apple products, go on an apple safari or become an apple tree owner.....
You can also go here and enjoy a different “Café-experience”. You can sit and enjoy their apple juice in the middle of the apple plantation, with some cold cuts. Definitely worth a visit.

This farm is well worth a visit. They make their own cheese, yogurt and ice cream. They have a shop, a café/restaurant – everything surrounded by animals and the farm houses. This is where locals go to get their “french cheese”.

Smakbyn is a restaurant is a very good restaurant and run by Ålands only celebrity, the super-friendly Mikael Björklund. It's right by Kastelholms castle and a golf course.

Hugos is 3 km away from us and just a grocery store. It's not just a grocery store but a classic, still family run shop that has almost everything you need. You can ask the staff anything and if they don't have it they know where to get it. And, you get to meet locals.
