Tourist Train “el trenecito”
Route: Playa Arenal Beach (Plaza Colón) - Playa Levante - Casco antiguo (old town) - back to Playa Arenal Beach/Plaza Colón (during high season only). It functions as hop-on/hop-off for the same day. The tourism office has a seasonal location there as well.

The arrival of the fishing boats at the port in afternoon
A great way to enjoy the day is to have a meal at the fishing port, take a walk along the Playa de Levante, and return to the fishing port to see the fishing boats deliver the catch of the day. The fish sale can also be visited and fresh fish is available for sale.

Meals in Spain are later and longer than in rest of Europe
Lunch can range from 1:30pm-4pm and the after-lunch rest break is almost sacred // Dinner can start as late as 9pm // The mid-morning snack “almuerzo” is key to the meals custom and coffee shops and bars offering food can be full all morning! :) // Lunches tend to be the heavier meal // It is common to have a lighter dinner at home such as a grilled meat or fish or eggs and salad or go out for a pizza in the evening. // Rice meals are for lunch only!
