Road in is long and winding. Make sure to go in the early morning or evening to actually see elk. They stay in the woods typically during the day. 50 minute drive from our house.

Especially on weekend evenings-lots of street performers, drum circle on Friday evenings and great restaurants dessert shops nearby-galleries etc. Parking off street is free after 6 p.m. and all day Sundays or parking in a garage is easiest if downtown is packed. During summer months lots of festivals and Shindig on the Green each weekend with live music.
