The historic village of Maynooth is 15minutes away and is bustling cafes and tea room, art galleries, antique stores, a farmer's market every Saturday May-Oct (every first Sat in Winter), Gas store with DVD rental & Bait, Snowmobile & Dog sledding tours, Ice-Skating rink, LCBO. The dramatic beauty of this region has long attracted artists including members of the Group of Seven who painted here. Maynooth is still home to many artists, artisans, musicians, writers and creators and hosts frequent community events.

More about ALGONQUIN PARK: - The essence of Algonquin is in its vast interior of maple hills, rocky ridges, and thousands of lakes. The only way to explore the interior of this park is by canoe or on foot. There is also a second Algonquin - along the 56 kilometre stretch of Highway 60. Here you can enjoy camping at one of eight campgrounds, hike one of 14 trails, take part in extensive Natural Heritage Education programs, and visit Algonquin's exceptional Visitor Centre, Logging Museum and Art Centre.

ATV enthusiasts will be thrilled with the scenic ride as the trail system cuts through muddy wetlands, incredible forests, around lakes and over rolling farmlands. Whether hiking, cycling, horseback riding, canoeing, ATVing or snowmobiling, are your pleasure, we have TRAILS you'll want to explore.

Sightseeing

Known as the 'Wild side of Algonquin' and set in the spectacular rolling hills of Hastings Highlands with acres of pristine crown land, the cottage is minutes from Lake St. Peter Provincial Park which boasts a wide sandy beach, canoe & kayak rentals, Volleyball courts and hiking trails. Algonquin East gate is 25mins north. Madawaska trail passes by the cottage, connecting to the 156km Heritage Hastings multi-use trail (B106E) for biking/hiking/ATV/Snowmobiling.
