after you have your ticket I would suggest going here to take the train up to Mer de Glace and see the magnificent glacier view. But be away it is MELTED...sorry. It is still a beautiful view and you can do 2 things before taking the hike to Plan de l'Aiguille.
1.visit the museum (20 mins)
2.visit the Ice Cave (1 hour)
