This is a great place to hike! It have breath taking views! You can hike up to some high county lakes from here.
Gianelli Trail to Chewing Gum Lake is a 8.5 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Pinecrest, California that features beautiful wild flowers and is rated as moderate.

Gianelli Trail to Chewing Gum Lake is a 8.5 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Pinecrest, California that features beautiful wild flowers and is rated as moderate.
At this gem of a lake you can watch a bald eagle catch a trout right in fro t of you very eyes. You can hike around this lake and see all of its beauty. It’s about a 5 mile hike. This lake does get pretty busy in the summer so it’s best to get there before 8:30 AM to grab a parking spot (especially on the weekends). Or arriving at about 5:30 PM for a beautiful sunset paddle. It can be windy in the afternoon but the mornings and evenings are usually calm for paddling across the lake. This is one of my favorite places to go.

Pinecrest Lake

Don’t forget to check out where Utica and Union Lakes meet at the damn wall, it is beautiful! This is definitely one of the most beautiful lakes in the area.

Utica Reservoir
This is a beautiful lake where you can jump off rocks into the nice cool water, kayak or paddleboard in the morning or evening when the is calm. Several fingers to go out and explore to this lake. Don’t forget to check out where Utica and Union Lakes meet at the damn wall, it is beautiful! This is definitely one of the most beautiful lakes in the area.
Sugar Pine Railway - Strawberry Branch is a 5.8 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Long Barn, California and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking and mountain biking and is accessible year-round. This is a wide and basically flat trail. There are lots of wildflowers to be found and the fishing in the river is great. One of my favorite places to go hiking!
