A stunning drive and walks in and above Cheddar Gorge. Also see the famous cheese being made in the village and you could even try the local scrumpy. Only about a 5 minute drive from the Gite or the enthusiastic could walk there over the west mendip way and choose from hundreds of flavours of ice cream when they get there

Bath is about an hours drive from the Gite. My personal recommendation is the boat trip from beneath Putney Bridge up to the pub at Bath Hampton. Also the Roman Baths, Spa, Cathedral and my favourite Theatre the Bath theatre Royal. Many restaurants take pre theatre bookings. So why not make a day of it ?

Bath
Bath is about an hours drive from the Gite. My personal recommendation is the boat trip from beneath Putney Bridge up to the pub at Bath Hampton. Also the Roman Baths, Spa, Cathedral and my favourite Theatre the Bath theatre Royal. Many restaurants take pre theatre bookings. So why not make a day of it ?

Days out
The Marine lake at clevedon is well maintained by local volunteer group and offers safe warm swimming waters and pontoons to swim out to. There is also a beach and pier at Clevedon and tends to be less crowded than Weston Beaches

Appart from retail therapy a little local secret of Street is it's outdoor swimming pools built by the Clarks family as a gift to the people of Street it is open to the public and is a lovely day out. check it out on the internet.
