The beaches
All the beaches on the coastal road are gorgeous. Just join the road and head west and there are so many wonderful beaches to see all with their own unique charm. All protected by the reef. Go to le Morne. You can climb the mountain and sit on the gorgeous beach 🏖 and let the current transport you. Stop ✋ at la prairie to enjoy the amazing view of le Morne mountain. Go 🤿 in point au roche to look at the gorgeous coral. Alternatively you can cycle along the coastal road and enjoy 😊 the view at a must slower pace. It is flat most of the way so it’s a really fabulous ride.

Gris gris
Get on to the coastal road and go East till you reach Souillac. Then look for signs saying Gris Gris this beach is completely different. Not protected by the reef. The waves 🌊 crash onto the shore and a rock juts out into the sea where you can watch the waves .

Bus
You can get a bus 🚌 along the coastal road or to curipipe or Port Louis the capital. It’s just 5mins walk to the bus stop. It’s great fun to travel by bus but they all stop early at about 7pm and they can take a long time but it is a very cheap way to travel and enjoy Mauritian culture first hand.

You will be most welcome. Remove your 👟 shoes. Cover your shoulders and wear clothes that go down to your knees. This will ensure you don’t offend anyone. Once inside you can look 👀 at the many different gods and possibly speak to the priest. Enjoy all the colours and smells.
