A beautiful and relatively easy walk up Creag Bheag that offers panoramic and unparalleled views of the valley. The route can be a loop around the golf course and can be completed within 2 hours and is an excellent way to start of the day. We grew up in the area and whilst there are bigger mountains, almost none offer the same kind of views. Well worth it

An old English Barracks that was take by Bonnie Prince Charlie and his Jacobite army. Located just outside the town it offers a slice of local history and for keen walkers it is a lovely stop on the "Badenoch Way". Well worth a visit and you can even get a horse ride from the town and out to see it.

Ruthven Barracks
An old English Barracks that was take by Bonnie Prince Charlie and his Jacobite army. Located just outside the town it offers a slice of local history and for keen walkers it is a lovely stop on the "Badenoch Way". Well worth a visit and you can even get a horse ride from the town and out to see it.
There are far too many jaw dropping sights in the area to fit into a simple guidebook (Although i will gladly recommend and give advice if asked). I would be remiss however if I didn't make special mention of "loch an eilein". A simply gorgeous Loch with an island castle. Everything about the place is special. The views, the drive to it and of course the castle which itself was used in the Harry Potter franchise as Dumbeldore's tomb. As a family we grew up in the local area and even had a wedding ceremony here so its near and dear to our hearts. Just take the B970 past Ruthven Barracks and take a spectacular, albeit slightly daunting country road to those not used to 1 1/2 track roads. The journey is a 20 to 30 minute drive from 50 The Highstreet.

Located within a 20 minute drive is Landmark Forrest Adventure Park. An excellent day out for a family with water slides, Rock climbing and plenty of other activities it is well worth a visit
