At first sight, this might look like a simple Citgo Gas Station, but in the back of the building is one of the best breakfast joints that literally only the locals know about. They serve, diner style, local favorites from livermush sandwiches to eggs sunny side up with a side of hashbrowns. This place is a locally owned family-run business owned by a good friend of ours, Nicole, who is as kind as she could be. We highly recommend stopping by for a bite to eat while staying at our home, as its just a half a mile down the road. And its as cheap as can be, by the way!

Elk Knob State Park is one of the newest additions to the North Carolina State Parks System. Currently, it is in an interim development stage with a park office/contact station, a maintenance facility, picnic area, parking areas, a trail to the summit of Elk Knob, and back country camping areas. At this time, visitors can hike to the summit by following a newly constructed trail 1.9 miles to the summit.

The grounds include 100 picnic sites, with shelters and comfort stations. A 300-seat amphitheater is used for lectures and talks during the summer months. Canoes can be rented for use on Price Lake.

Once they enter the aerial park, guests will then choose which elements they want to cross or climb, and how high in the air they want to explore for up to 3 hours.
