Even among locals, not many people know about The Yard. The Yard is a strip of bars including a brewery, a whiskey distillery, a sake joint, a coffee bar, and wine bar. Not to mention a couple food trucks. Everything closes at 10pm and the strip is in an industrial area where you'd expect to find automotive shops and metal working garages. Super cool and unique vibe and a low key good time crowd. As a bonus, across the street is another super cool brewery called Vacancy Brewery.

This is the best swimming hole in Austin. Everyone goes to swim at Barton Springs. Save yourself the crowd and go to the far more beautiful McKinney Falls State Park. It's $6 per person to enter during the day. Open from around 8am-10pm. Two amazing swimming holes at the upper and the lower falls. This is the best swimming hole in Austin, take advantage while the suckers are at Barton (also a cool place).
