Quartiers

Restaurants: You are literally in the heart of Downtown ! The options are limitless ! Montreal is known for its fantastic food that is reasonably priced. There is a large multicultural immigration so all culinary styles are to be recommended with authentic tastes. St-Catherine has a lot of quick bites and, especially in this area, many Korean BBQ and other asian specialties. Notre-Dame street has many fancy restaurants well worth the walk. You’re also not far from Old Port and Old Montreal, although it’s a little more touristy so restaurants can be uneven. Some personal favorites : Escondite (1224 Drummond) : Mexican Foxy (1638 Notre-Dame West) : Bistro, excellent drinks and wine list. Bar George (1440 Drummond) : Historic building, breathtaking decors, british food and cocktails. Joe Beef (2491 Notre-Dame West) : An institution. Huge portions, fantastic dishes, great wine list. Hard to score reservations. Protip : there are usually several spots at the bar even without reservation, show up early to score those seats ! Pullman (3424 Park avenue) : Best wine bar ever. A little further east, but well worth the trip. Kampai garden (1616 Ste-Catherine West) : Asian brewery Atwater Cocktail Club (512 Atwater) : A speakeasy bar with fantastic cocktails. A little hard to find in the alleyway ! And of course, you can use any app to order in. Entertainment Again, given that you are in the Golden Square Mile, you can decide to do just about anything in Montreal ! Feel free to research activities, but you are literally 5 minutes away from the Bell Center, so try to enjoy a hockey game while you’re here ! If the Habs are winning, the atmosphere is electrifying (but not if they’re losing !) Commute: The closest Metro station is Guy-Concordia on the green line. Lucien-Lallier is also not too far (orange line). The metro map in the living room is original, so you can actually use it to plan your travels ! You can also go on the STM website (Société de Transport de Montréal) to plan your travels as there are many bus stops around.
