Arts & Culture
Excellent art museum with frequent specialty exhibits. Great lunch spot with a good restaurant as well as being able to take a picnic in the beautiful outdoor space. Art both inside the museum and on the beautiful grounds. The grounds also has a hiking trail. Museum is free of charge as our most of our local museums as part of being in the NC State capital. Special exhibits have a small fee.

A well done museum great for spending a few hours and learning about the history of North Carolina. As with most of our Raleigh museums in the Capital City of North Carolina, there is no fee.

I didn't know whether to put this in the category for museums or entertainment. It is an amazing place to take children of all ages to. There is so much to do. Pack a picnic lunch and in this climate it is better to do all of the outdoor activities including the Butterfly Pavillion early in the day before the heat of the day, and then after lunch settle in for the indoor activities. Everything is hands on...demonstrating how much fun education can be. I learn something every time I go.

Kids play in the green, and occasionally there are festivities in the green that are organized. Fantastic restaurants too, most with outdoor seating right around the green. Check out their schedule. Best Thai food that we have ever eaten...the chefs make everything from scratch. Staff is great too. We go to this restaurant frequently. It was quite a surprise the first time as we just popped in after grocery shopping as it is in the shopping center...and what a delightful surprise we had!

Fantastic Lebanese food. You don't need to know the names of the dishes as you go up to a display case to choose what you wish. The hot dishes are then brought to the table. Aside from the great, well made and nutritious food, it is a good place for a family to go.

Absolutely fantastic children's museum/activity center where just about everything is hands on, encouraging learning, exploration and play. Right next to it is an IMAX theater so with careful planning, you can make quite a day of it for you with your children.
