In the heart of the Merchant City, Merchant Square is a small centre with restaurants, bars and, during the day, a small artisan market. It is a lovely indoor setting and there's something to cater to everyone's taste.

Drinks & Nightlife
Missoula is a modern bar, close to the clubs and nightlife in the city centre. There is a massive range of drinks, including classic cocktails with new and exotic twists (they are all also half price Sunday to Thursday!). As well as being great for a start to your night out, Missoula have a varied menu for lunch and dinner, and tables suited to all sorts of parties. (Definitely recommend the Cherry St Clements cocktail, delicious!)

The Barrowland Ballroom is one of Glasgow's most iconic music venues, having hosted incredible acts such as David Bowie and Metallica, as well as acting as a starting platform for local acts such as Biffy Clyro and Primal Scream (history of the Barrowlands: http://www.glasgowmusic.co.uk/ReadVenue-21). Originally a dance hall in the 1950's, the Barrowlands have become a symbol of musical evolution in Scotland. The Barrowland Ballrooms are only a five minute walk away from the flat and are well worth the visit, especially since tickets for their gigs tend to be very cheap!

Bloc often hosts live music events, a fun night to try some interesting Scottish themed food and drink. As well as this, there is a different food offer every night, making this a budget friendly venue.

There are also often events in the green, and is less than a five minute walk from the flat.
