This is a quintessential, old-school New York, Sicilian Italian restaurant. If you like Italian food, good to dinner here. The staff is very old-school New York but very polite and make you feel like family. And the Italian food is superb. My FAVORITE thing about Joe's though is the atmosphere - you will feel like a local here.

If you're planning to cook at home, this Polish butcher can supply you with nearly any kind of meat you can think of. The pork rinds and bacon slab are especially delicious.

This is in Bushwick, but not a far bus ride from Ridgewood. Foster Sundry is a great combination craft butcher shop/beer store/cheese counter/deli that offers local produce and sustainably sourced meats. Their biscuit sandwiches are monstrous and OH SO delicious!

Take any jar or container from the kitchen at home and fill it up at the co-op with whatever it is you need - nuts, spices, teas, coffees, and many more local or sustainable products are available for your shopping needs. It is also priced at a wholesale level and therefore cheaper than a traditional grocery store.
