A quick list of restaurants my wife and I enjoy and have to eat at when we are on the island.
Family owned, family loved. Best place to find quality olive oil and other Italian/Greek spices and imports. They serve their muffuletta WARM, the only way it should be served, allowing all the spices, deli meats, olive mix and cheese to slightly meld together and breath. Gumbo is great as well as the bean and rice. Can't go wrong!
The space is tight and seating is limited as it is a spice store.

It's a funky and unique place with a different take on pizza and "fast food". I definitely recommend having the fried Brussels sprouts and some variation of their biscuits and gravy. It's not the healthiest but there are some vegan options. A great family restaurants.

A great brunch spot! I'd recommend the fried chicken cutlet + waffle (brunch menu), the shrimp and grits (breakfast menu) and the Eggs Benedict.

It's an island gem where the locals hit for burritos/tacos. The burritos are very large. I can normally eat 1/2 for breakfast and 1/2 for lunch.
"All the way means", bacon, egg, cheese, potato, beans and chorizo. The hot sauce is green sauce and is made fresh every day. The tortillas are also made fresh daily.
Certain days of the week, if you get there early enough, you will find a dozen fresh tamales!
