Good places to try around the Valley. Please note locations - I tried to put the closest ones to the house at the top and the further ones are closer to the bottom.
Four Peaks is the largest brewery in Arizona. Their flagship beer, Kiltlifter, is a Scottish-Style Ale that wins medals yearly at the Great American Beer Festival. Not only does their beer rule, their food is awesome and they have a great patio to sit and relax and enjoy the Arizona weather on. One of my favorite places in the Valley.
Try: Kiltlifter, their beer flights, and the Spinach Artichoke dip is to die for.

Old Town is generally the place to go for people in their early to mid-twenties at night. Lots of bars and restaurants to go to at night. During the day is a good tourist space to get Southwestern stuff.

Where the Dbacks play! You can take the light rail here (the stop is about 6 miles from my house to get on) on game days and your ticket is free. Show your stub to the ticket agent.

This is the closest Spring Training baseball park to my house - and a great park to visit. Easily accessible, and smaller than the other stadiums. So much fun. Even if you can't golf. They made a driving range into a game. It's great for groups - and lots of fun. Think darts - but with a driving range - you can essentially play cricket or you can play just who gets the most points. Or you can just play for fun.

This is the largest municipal park in the country. There are tons of hiking trails that offer amazing views of the entire valley. On a clear day you can see all the way to University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale to Tempe, Arizona.

The Desert Botanical Gardens are a beautiful representation of the desert and the native plants. There is a butterfly garden as well. The cafe on-site, Gertrude's is great for lunch while you are there.
