The specific geographical position of Bosnia and Herzegovina had influence on the traditional habits and customs ever since Roman times.
In the old Bosnian Kingdom (1124-1462) and over the time of the Dubrovnik Republic, people traded in the Mediterranean region, thus both then and now enriching the gastronomic habits.
The arrival of the Ottoman Empire (1462-1878) and Austro-Hungarian Empire (1878-1918) enhanced this region to be characterized by special dishes which continues to cultivate our restaurant Nanina Kuhinja.
