Beautiful little seaside town with cobbled streets, lots of restaurants and independent shops, you can take the ferry to Port Louis from Lorient or drive there in 30 minutes or so.

Only go here if you're hungry. Asian buffet restaurant with a huge selection of dishes including sushi and teppanyaki (hot plate). The restaurant is light and airy and service is good. Its a real experience but be prepared to unbutton your shirt a little!

Small animal park directly adjacent to our holiday home. Independent from Camping du Quinquis but worth discovering especially if you have young children.

I hesitate to call this an amusement park and its a good 2 1/2 hours from the site but you'll be so very glad you went...wow, just wow. Late night shows are simply breathtaking.

Again, a bit of a drive to Nantes but this place is befitting of the city that gave us Jules Verne, the Grand Elephant should be a modern wonder of the world!

If football is your culture then a pleasant evening is to be had (during the football season) at Stade Moustoir, home of FC Lorient, professional Football team in the French top flight, if you're exceptionally lucky PSG might be there when you are (although tickets would be phenomenally difficult to find for that game) but for most other games, tickets can be found easily via the FC Lorient website under the tab 'billetiere'.

Parks & Nature
Area of outstanding natural beauty and one of the best kept secrets in the local area. A popular spot for locals and tourists in the know. 'Devils Rock' is a grand spot for a picnic whilst watching those who dare jump off giant rocks into the river below, not for the feint hearted and supervision required at all times for children but if your passion is for a little risk taking then visit the rocks, you'll (probably) be glad you did.

Large town/city, not particularly attractive but you can spend a pleasant day wandering around the main shopping area and down at the marina area. As its a large town/city it has everything you would expect it to have, including lots of outlying commercial areas, perhaps the biggest is at Lanester with countless hypermarkets, large shops and eateries.
