Where to go, what to do in Bradenton, Florida!
I have seen signs that say "Keep Bradenton Weird." Do not let that keep you away, especially if you have small children. Weird is Baby Boomers doing their 60-70's thing! Never seen anything that caused me to worry!
I love baseball, the field is clean, and the food is very good. The Pittsburgh Pirates have trained. there since 1927. There are five MlB teams also training in the general area so you have a good chance to see your team also.

This is a MUST! Great burgers (and not skinny!). Clean, can eat out on a picnic table. Especially good if you have a little spare time to our marvelous sunsets! Fast service, great selection of food and beer. Actually serve soft drinks in a bottle!
I would expect Frankie and Annette to be seated next to me!

I love the seafood here. My special friend and her children enjoy it as well. Clam chowder and shrimp are fantastic. Go at dusk and you can stand and see the Dolphins.

This is a great museum for younger children. It is very informative and hands-on whereby even my twenty-eight year-old son was learning things. Laid-back atmosphere without huge crowds so children can run a bit.

There are several galleries and homes that wold constitute a self-guided tour. There is also a used record store that is really cool. Bradenton has a reputation for being "out there" and this is clearly why. But then again, if it is just like home, why come? Grateful Dead anyone?

What to say? There is a museum and fort to tour. Learn about antique weapons. ( my passion!). Learn about the early settlers in the area. Fabulous beach that nobody knows about! White sand, little snack shop. There is a fee but small.

This park has it all, walking trials, tennis courts, baseball diamonds field house. Great if you just want to walk and get to know the place.

This beach, which does require a car to get to, is listed as one of the best in the world by Conde Nast. There are no amenities there and you might have to get there early but it is gorgeous. Unspoiled. Might be good at night also.

Anna Maria is the flagship beach on the island. Parking is an issue but there is easy public transportation available. White sand, quiet, unspoiled, idyllic. WOW!
