The Panathenaic Stadium is a classical cultural and touristic monument of Greece (opened in 566BC).
Its rich history is directly connected to the Modern Olympic Games as from their revival in 1896 until the Athens Olympic Games in 2004. It is also the place from where the Olympic flame sets up its journey to the cities of the Olympic Games, both Winter, Summer and Youth.

Excavations have proven that Adrianou Street is the oldest street in Athens still in continuous use with exactly the same layout since antiquity.
The place is also full of touristic shops and restaurants.

The residential area of Mets is found to the east of the Acropolis. This is a lovely old area full of some lovely neoclassical and prewar houses. Good examples of these are found on Markou Mousourou Street. It is also known as the Athens' Monmartre.
