Generations of college students have claimed this place as their favorite. I personally love the beans and rice but everything is good. Be prepared to stand in line if you go at peak times.

I literally order the same thing every time I go but others tell me the whole menu is good. It only has a few tables so don't try to go in peak times.

As close to a speak easy as you can find in this century, the Guest Room is the bar in the alley behind Restaurant Tyler. Seriously, the alley. While it is primarily a bar, they serve the food from upstairs and it is GOOD. Especially the BBQ okra. Trust me on this.
Great place for good drinks and food and having long conversations with people you like. It can get really busy. I try to go midweek if possible to avoid waits.

The bar inside the restaurant has fantastic, huge booths if you want to go hang out with friends. Bahaa is the best bartender in town. You can tell him I said so.

Ok, so this is NOT my scene. But if you like late nights and loud music, you might love it. I included it because it is so much of a local staple. This is for the college crowd. Over 30 and you probably should skip it.

Fishing, Hiking, kayaking, nature photography, it's got it all. Seriously one of the most lovely places in Mississippi. Make sure to visit the admin building to check on trail conditions before setting out. Flooding is common during wet periods.
