Children’s Attractions in Snowdonia
Trawsfynydd Holiday Village has a children's adventure play area, located in the middle of the village. It includes a slide, swings for both babies and bigger kids, a small climbing wall, various balance beams, a small football pitch, a basket ball hoop and a couple of picnic benches. There are also lots of child friendly attractions in and around Snowdonia.
Many of the attractions listed on our Castles, Caves and Mines, Tree Top Courses, Steam Railways, Adventure Activities and Rafting & Kayaking pages are great for children. Here we list those children's activities that are primarily designed with children in mind.
Ffestiniog Railway is about 20 mins by car from our holiday village. It runs between Blaenau Ffestiniog and Porthmadog and if you prefer, you can travel just half way and walk around Llyn Mair or feed the ducks from the picnic area. The railway has various events throughout the year including Interactive days, Food on the move, Vintage days, Jazz Trains, Halloween and Santa Trains, and also offers Footplate rides.

Ffestiniog Railway Harbour Station
Ffestiniog Railway is about 20 mins by car from our holiday village. It runs between Blaenau Ffestiniog and Porthmadog and if you prefer, you can travel just half way and walk around Llyn Mair or feed the ducks from the picnic area. The railway has various events throughout the year including Interactive days, Food on the move, Vintage days, Jazz Trains, Halloween and Santa Trains, and also offers Footplate rides.

The Welsh Highland Railway now runs between Porthmadog and Caernarfon meaning passengers can now combine the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railway journeys and travel from Blaenau Ffestiniog to Caernarfon - some 40 miles of narrow-gauge steam. If you are just taking this train, then from Porthmadog (20 minutes drive from our village) it crosses the Glaslyn Estuary flatlands to Pont Croesor, home to the RSPB's Glaslyn Osprey Project, then after passing Hafod y Llyn it goes through the famous Aberglaslyn Pass to Beddglert. From here you pass Pitts Head Summit and Rhydd Du before heading to Caernarfon Castle.
The Welsh Highland Heritage Railway is also in Porthmadog has various events throughout the year including Halloween and Santa Trains.

Discover all about these gentle, majestic animals in our family friendly adventure. This is a truly wonderful interactive experience. You will get the opportunity to interact and handle one of our friendly llamas.
Our Llama experience lasts approx 1 1/2 hours.
You will be greeted by your expert guide who will give an interesting talk about these amazing animals.
You will than have a llama handling lesson where you will learn how to walk and interact with your llama.
Once you have had a practice you will go on a peaceful, enjoyable trek
. During the trek you can admire
the spectacular scenery with your llama walking companion.
After the trek its time to try your skill at some llama agility!
Experience first hand how intelligent and graceful Llamas are as you try your hand at llama agility - a first in
the UK!
There are plenty of photo
opportunities- in fact our llamas are
natural posers and love to have their picture taken!
