Lake Wendouree is situated in the centre of Ballarat and offers a wide range of attractions and recreational activities including the Ballarat Botanical Gardens, Steve Moneghetti walking and running track, cycling trails, bird watching, fishing, indigenous playground and excellent picnic and BBQ facilities. The perfect day out for the family, or even the perfect afternoon stroll as the sun goes down. A definite must see while staying at Ballarat.

Upstairs, the gallery collection is definitely worth a visit, as the Gallery holds one of the best regional collections in the country, and is always looking for interesting, thought-provoking ways of displaying it. Downstairs there are temporary exhibitions, with usually three open at any one time.
