The Piaggio Museum was inaugurated in March 2000 in 3,000 square meters of the former tooling workshop, one of the oldest buildings and fascinating of Pontedera industrial complex, where the company settled its production since the early twenties of '900. The Museum was created to preserve and enhance the heritage of one of the oldest Italian companies and aims to reconstruct the events of Piaggio and its Territory retracing a long section of Italian history, the fact of economic, customs and industrial development, through the exhibition of his most famous and representative products, and thanks to the rich documentation preserved in the Historical Archives.

According to legend, in 63 B.C. two brothers, Muzio and Silvio, two young patricians escaping from Rome after their implication in the conspiracy of Catiline, sheltered in Valdelsa and built two castles: the Castle of Mucchio and the Castle of Silvia, which would develop in the future San Gimignano.
The first historical document mentioning the name of the town is dated 30th August 929, when Ugo di Provenza donated to the Bishop of Volterra the so-called Mount of the Tower "prope Sancto Geminiano adiacente" (next to San Gimignano). The name of San Gimignano probably comes from the bishop of Modena. According to legend, during the barbaric invasions the saint appeared miraculously on the city walls, and saved the town from Totila's threat.

Dopo aver guadato più volte il fiume arriviamo alla prima cascatella. Proseguendo arriviamo al Tonfo degli Ebrei di 10m.
